Comming from a Ruby-background; after two years of enterprise Java, I have to make a decision. And what a fool I’m that this took me two years.

As a developer, I assume that management trusts me. And so I need to use languages, libraries, and frameworks that I can trust. That’s why I’ll choose Elixir, Phoenix, and ELM instead of Java and Javascript for the next project.

I do not need, better say, I don’t like an environment where I can (means must) decide from a million possible options. I want one (or few) options that work! And a community that helps and doesn’t lead any and every simple question into an academic drama.

Farewell Java.
